Wicked Fast San Diego Marathon & Half Marathon – Road Closure Information
First and foremost, we would like to thank the residents, businesses, and community members of Alpine and the surrounding areas for welcoming the Wicked Fast San Diego Marathon & Half Marathon to your community. We understand that road closures and traffic impacts can be inconvenient, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this event may cause. Our goal is to minimize impacts while hosting a safe and meaningful event that raises awareness and supports the mission of Nobody Plans On Dying, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing youth overdose and providing education, resources, and support to our communities.
Event Date & Time
Saturday, June 13 Race Start: 6:30 a.m.
What Residents Can Expect
Road impacts will occur primarily during the early morning hours. Most traffic impacts in Alpine are expected between 6:30 a.m. and approximately 7:30 a.m.The race utilizes partial lane closures only whenever possible. Roads will reopen progressively as the final participants pass through each section of the course. Traffic control personnel and law enforcement will be positioned throughout the route to assist residents and ensure public safety.
Resident Access
We understand that residents may need to leave their homes to attend appointments, go to work, or engage in normal weekend activities. To help accommodate local access, Traffic control personnel will be available throughout the route. Residents will be assisted whenever it is safe to do so. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times. Access to homes and businesses will be prioritized whenever possible.
Community Notification Efforts
Our team has been working diligently to keep the community informed by delivering flyers to residents along the route. Personally notifying local businesses. Posting event information on community and social media channels. Coordinating with local agencies, law enforcement, and traffic control professionals.
